Meet The Author: Jennifer Gonzalez

Jennifer Gonzalez is a Christian author and missionary who has served in missions for over 30 years alongside her husband, Cesar. Together, they serve with Adventures in Missions and have served in the United States and around the world.

Jennifer has a degree in Child Development and has served in many roles, including teacher, curriculum designer, homeschool leader, principal, missionary, and missionary coach. She lives in Georgia and is loving this season of life with her two daughters and their families, including four grandkids who live nearby.

Jennifer’s heart is to help children and families know God’s Word and understand His deep love for them. One of the Scriptures that guides her life is Jesus’ answer when He was asked what matters most:

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.” This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:37-39 NKJV

And, one of the best ways to love God and others is to share about His love. Jesus’ final words to His disciples are instructions to do just that:

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV

Over the years in missions, Jennifer saw the need for simple resources that help children and families engage with God’s Word. A coloring book format provides a hands-on way to learn about the stories of Jesus. Translating it into other languages and creating resources on how to act out the stories and use them in different settings seemed a natural next step.

That is how Living Word Resources was born.

Jennifer's prayer for the Bible Stories to Share series is that it would be used on the mission field, and also in living rooms, nursing homes, Sunday School classes, and anywhere people need to hear God's Word and His story.
